One of the traps of making things smaller is that it becomes difficult to fit all the features in and as a result the design suffers. In the case of the feature rich D190MS, it has resulted in some of them being difficult to access and as a result it is not as user friendly as it could be.
However, it produces an excellent video image in most lighting conditions except when using the zoom, which can be slow to focus, particularly in variable light.
Still images are recorded to Sony Memory Stick, however, like most other cameras the 640 x 480 resolution is too low to be of much use beyond small images on screen. Audio recording quality is very good but the software package with the camera is only average.
As a result the overall package did not represent as good value for money as some of the other cameras.
Samsung has produced a nice looking mini-cam with an unusual dual zoom system. One button for optical and another for the digital, which serves more to confuse than help.
