Corsair's new PSU range ticks all the boxes.
Small form factor PCs were allegedly on the rise in 2015/2016, thanks to the predicted shift towards lounge room PCs and the Steam Box, neither of which appear to have gained any more traction than they had before. Still, small PCs need small PSUs, so we asked Corsair to send a couple from its new range for a closer look.
The 450 and 600-watt units can be completely silent in low to medium loads with the fan idling at those loads. Even at full whirl, these use 92mm fans instead of the louder 80mm usually seen in SFF PSUs. We connected them to a test system and performance was faultless, and indeed, mostly silent. Corsair also uses proper Japanese capacitors and claim use of better quality components to keep coil whine to a minimum.
A nice five year warranty tops it off, all up making these an attractive SFF PSU choice.
