And yes, it is HELLA FUN.
If there are two sweeter words in the language of first person shooters, I don't know what they are, and after playing just a few minutes of the new Unreal Tournament, I'm reminded of just how sweet they are.
New Unreal Tournament? you ask? Why yes! As part of the announcement that Unreal Engine 4 is going to be free, the all new though still in pre-alpha Unreal Tournament has been released for download, and is totally free.
The game is a collaborative project between Epic and the community, with the idea that it will constantly evolve through player feedback and an iterative design process. But, even in pre-alpha, it is unmistakebly the Unreal Tournament of old - it's fast, twitchy, and though it has a a shiny new skin, all the classic weapons are there.
And yes, the bio-rifle still sucks, and the frag-cannon still rocks.
So, if you want to get in on the action - and we heartily recommend you do, head along to the official site, and get downloading! In the meantime, here's a short video of me fragging it up with a game full of bots. I was going to talk, but, frankly, the game's just too fast!
