Western Digital reveals new Blue and Green SSD drives

Not content with launching a new external storage device, WD launches two new internal drives.

Western Digital has lifted the lid on two new consumer solid state drives - the WD Blue SSD, and the WD Green SSD.

The WD Blue drives comes in 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB formats, and comes in both standard 2.5in and M.2 2280 form factors. The Blue drives offer sequential read and write speeds of up to 545MB/s and 525MB/s respectively, boasts a up to 400 TBW (terrabytes written), and retail from $US79.


The WD Green drives also comes in the same two form factors, in 120GB and 240GB formats, features read/write speeds of 540MB/s and 405MB/s, endurance up to 80 TBW.

The Blue drives are available immediately, with the Green drives coming later this year.
