Microsoft announces new Surface Go tablet

And Australian pre-orders open tomorrow!

We only reported this morning on rumours of a new Microsoft Surface tablet, and then, BANG - Microsoft announces one. Pre-orders are opening tomorrow for the new Surface Go, and prices start at a very reasonable $599 - Australian!

The Surface Go is built around a 7th Generation Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y with a fanless design. There's also a hi-res PixelSense display that works with the Surface Pen, and the tablet runs on battery for up to nine hours. The Surface Go weighs only 520gm, and is 8.3mm thick.

The Go also boasts a built-in kickstand, USB-C connectivity, a headphone jack, and a MicroSDXC card reader, as well as Surface Connect for charging.

The Surface Go launches alongside the Surface Go Signature Type Cover, which offers ergonomic typing and a Windows Precision Trackpad that supports five-point gestures. The device can also connect to a Surface Mobile Mouse.

Pre-orders are open tomorrow, ahead of wider availability on the 2nd of August.
