Batgirl content coming to Arkham Knight

Will include tag-team feature, allowing players to step in Robin's shoes.

The first story driven add-on for Arkham Knight has been announced, and it’s starring Batgirl in a prequel. Aside from putting players in Barbra Gordon’s stiletto heels, Batgirl: A Matter of Family, allows for co-op, with Robin and Batgirl teaming up to take down their enemies. The add-on takes place in a new location, the Seagate amusement park, a waterpark built atop an oil rig which has been rigged by the Clown prince of Crime. Not to be outdone, The Joker and Harley Quinn are also playable with this same tag-team feature, though given the history, they’re likely to be restricted to bonus modes only.

Batgirl is set apart from Batman with her hacking abilities. While she doesn’t have the same raw power as Bruce Wayne, her hacking may “give her opportunities do things that not even Batman can pull off,” said Justin Vasquez, the game’s design producer.

The DLC is available for fans who’ve purchased the season pass, and is available on its own as a separate purchase from July the 22nd.  The season pass also includes an exclusive Thomas Wayne Flashpoint Batman skin, and will continue delivering regular content, so long as players keep them bucks coming. With the Joker’s story done, and Mark Hamill’s retirement from the role, it’s almost certain that Troy Baker will return to voice him. Is this a necessary addition to the game, in light of the many, many, Batman villains who’ve been given the shaft in favour of DC’s most marketable psychopath? Leave your comments below, people!
