World of Tanks developer brings a classic Australian tank back home

Australian-made Sentinel tank restored and gifted to the Australian Armor & Artillery Museum in Cairns.

Only one tank was ever designed and produced in Australia, and that tank is the rather rare Sentinel Mk 1 Cruiser. They were produced during World War 2, but they're aren't many left - in fact, only seven were even made.

Now, thanks to Wargaming, a restored Sentinel tank will soon go on public display at the Australian Armor & Artillery Museum in Cairns.

“Wargaming is passionate about history,” said Tracy Spaight, Director of Special Projects at Wargaming, in today's release. “We work with museums and nonprofits around the world to make sure that the vehicles of World War II are preserved for future generations. We are thus excited to bring the Sentinel tank back to Australia, where she was built, so that Australians can rediscover this piece of their country’s WWII heritage.”

The tank will also make an appearance in-game, in World of Tanks and World of Tanks Blitz.
