Editor's Note
Norton's reputation went south several years ago, but Symantec has been working hard to redeem themselves. We were mostly happy with Norton 360 (the original and version 2), and now there's a public preview of Norton Internet Security 2009.
Symantec is promising quicker start-times and scanning, which is a big call. If they can pull it off, maybe Norton will find its way back onto your desktop (or not, if you've decided free AV is good enough).
