The magazine earned the award at an award ceremony held today, attended by finalists across 16 industry categories, covering areas as diverse as home & garden, motoring, women's fashion and business & current affairs.
In awarding PC Authority the winner of the computing & games category, judges took into account PC Authority's readership, which increased 16.2% in Roy Morgan's June 2009 report.
Judges took into account a number of criteria in determining winners in each category, including editorial, design, readership and circulation, as well as data from Nielsen AdEx advertising revenue estimate. Magazines eligible for the awards must have circulation audit figures from ABC and a readership figure from Roy Morgan.
Judges described PC Authority as the "clearest consumer offering" in its category, also commenting on its "interesting content". The judges also commented on Haymarket Media's decision to remove the disc from the cover of PC Authority, allowing "the cover to stand out".
