Mandriva Linux 2010.0 is out

Madriva announced the release of Mandriva Linux 2010.0 this morning. Codenamed "Amelie", Mandriva 2010.0 is this year's autumn release of the popular Red Hat based Linux distribution

We'd suspected it was close to release because the Release Candidate 2 development mirrors had stopped updating packages a few days ago.

The dozens of mirror site repositories that support Mandriva are still being updated with the official 2010.0 release CD and DVD ISO files and software packages, but this should be completed some time today.

Mandriva, which is headquartered in France and also has offices in Brazil and the US, hasn't updated its main website to reflect this new release yet, but there's a 2010.0 Tour available, as well as Release Notes to pore over.

Once they've been updated, the mirror sites will have the ISO files for you to check out, and those sites also have general information about how to use the files to try out a Live CD or install the new release.
