I am constantly tweaking my PC to try and find more speed and was delighted to find a program that actually does make my PC feel zippier.
eBoostr works like
Readyboost and
Superfetch, technologies only found in Microsoft's Vista until eBoostr made these technologies available for Windows XP.
eBoostr uses some of your memory and/or a USB drive to cache the files on your HDD that are used most often, so when you open a program instead of windows getting the information it needs from your slow hard drive it gets it from fast memory.
I had been using eBoostr V2 and was very impressed but eBoostr has this week released eBoostr V3 beta which lets you optimize programs of your choice and also works on MS Vista.
