Hi,
I have an old pc which im re-building and got a bit confused after reading the manuals for both the graphic card and the motherboard.
Motherboard - GIGABYTE P4 TITAN SERIES 875P GA-8IK1100 (Rev 2.x)
Graphic Card - ATI RADEON 9800 Pro 128m
In the motherboard just above the the slot where you would fix the graphic card there is a slot(molex 4pin) named 'AGP_12V'. The manual states that you can connect AGP card power cable to this connector.
But in the graphic card manual, it says that the Graphic Card should be connected to the computers PSU to meet its high performance and high speed memory requirements. It says to connect the 3 way molex power extension cable (provided) - (A) to graphic card slot (B) to PSU and (C) to Hard Drive C:.
I obviously need to go with what the graphic card manual says, but do I also have to futher extend the 3 way power extension cable and fix it to the mother board AGP_12V slot as well?
Can I do both? Is it necessary to do both?
Thanks
