I have a tracking cookie on my PC called webtrendslive. I emailed Web trends Australia and they assure me it is not spyware but "Webtrends is the leading web analytics solution used by thousands of companies including Microsoft Global, Australian Broadcasting Corporation and National Australia Bank."

I would define spyware as 1. Installs without permission, 2. Reports on my activities without my permission.

I have asked webtrends to confirm that it does not do these things, although clearly it has already done No1.

I would be interested in what others think.

Yes, a lot of them are just spyware.

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

Ask questions. There's no such thing as a stupid one, just stupid answers. (mostly)

Spyware is a type of malware that is installed on computers and that collects information about users without their knowledge. The presence of spyware is typically hidden from the user. Typically, spyware is secretly installed on the user's personal computer. Sometimes, however, spywares such as keyloggers are installed by the owner of a shared, corporate, or public computer on purpose in order to secretly monitor other users.

But you have to go to the Wikipedia for more info, Cheers

Yup, an exact quote.
Maybe next time you could post a link for us?

If it can't be fixed with old fencing wire, buy some new fencing wire...
