Hey, know this isn't our usual focus of thought, but wondering if anyone knew stuff about TV's and the many differences between High Def and all that...anyone recommendations from people in the know?

I know a little bit from my selling of stuff

Whatcha want to know?

With HD the basic knowledge of it is that FULL HD is where a TV is able to display 1080P. Many TVs will be advertised as HD but can only display 1080I. Its fairly easy to check what the TV can display and can't display.

In terms of LCD vs Plasma, my personal preference is a plasma espeically the pioneer versions. IF your after colour accuracy especially with Blacks then I would hit up the Plasmas. LCDs are cooler and lighter and generally overall more energy efficient. And image is generally probably a litle bit brighter. Bear in mind an Plasma and LCD are extremely expensive to run electicity wise so like the heat diference does count.

Jim.Dude do some research on the TVs before buying ..I did a bit before buying mine. have a look over at http://www.dtvforum.info/ forums too ..From memory PC Authority did a review on some awhile back and was a be help in my decision - Can't remember the issue number off hand.. I have a Panasonic 42X70a that is great for movies and has inbuilt HD tuner. Smile ...only con is that there is a slight sound issue with the model ..not sure it if fixed adnd only for some odd reason happens on 10HD....

Edit: There is a Firmware updated that can be delpoyed via SD card to fix the issue
