Hi, hoping someone can help. i can't seem to install java. when i used the old version it worked, but now when i try and update to the latest version i get an error message saying that it failed to unzip core files. i tried using javara and got rid of all the old stuff but still can't install the new version. i also tried to install the offline version with the same result.

Hi harvey, a few questions first.
What OS are you using?
Have you tried uninstalling all the java updates in add remove programs in control panel?
Have you tried using the update button in the java application in the control panel?

It may be worth your while to go to the Java download site and try clicking on the "verify now" button for your operating system and see what it comes up with.

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

Ask questions. There's no such thing as a stupid one, just stupid answers. (mostly)
