the purpose of the weblink is for the forum viewer to access the relevant information to peruse for themselves, anyway here it is.
Palm do not intend to introduce the pre or any WebOS products into Australia in the foreseeable future they aim to build a strong presence in North America and Europe.Palm Australia will basically be one of operational support ie:- technical, warranty for purchased products from their current line up,however Palm do not completely discount any pre or WebOS products from coming here. A Telstra executive was quoted in january after the pre's unveiling at the CES While previewing Palm's much-hyped Pre handset made the comment that "while the Pre was promising, it needed work before it would be able to compete with the iPhone and the "new HTC handset".For months there was speculation about when Telstra were going to release it or were they ever and news about Palms' financial woes. Now Telstra senior executives have been quoted as reported in Channel News(for once it was not Telstras' fault). Senior Telstra executives have said that they "doubt" that the Palm Pre will be launched in Australia. The executive said "We have spoken to Palm and our understanding is that the Company is only interested in the US and European market". my thoughts on the matter i personally believe that this is big mistake for a company that apparently is not doing so well financially and interest will undoubtedly wane and prospective consumers will look elsewhere.

What's the latest update? All I see is a link. It'd be nice if you outlined the contents of the link, and gave your opinion.
