So we have seen what a virus can do!
Now on too part 2! We are going to take a short look at the anti virus programs i will be testing in part 3!
AVG Version 8 Is the newest revision of this long time running anti virus software AVG.Owned by Grisoft (Now AVG Technology) they also offer a paid version of this, the paid version has more features such as anti
rootkit and anti spam.
Avast!
My personal favourite,Avast Home edition 4.8.Owned by ALWIL Software,Avast was first released back in 1998.ALWWIL Also have a paid version of this for business use,but for everyday residential use you simply have to register the program every year (Free).
Avira
Avira AntiVir PE Is owned by Avira, Avira also does antivirus for Linux.Lastly,They do offer a professinal edition.
Comodo
Comodo Security Suite also includes a Firewall aswell,Comodo is Owned b Comodo Security Solutions.Comodo also do offer a Professional edition with plenty of support options such as remote virus removal and remote install!
Spyware Terminator With Clamwin
Spyware Terminator,Owned by Crawler. Spyware Terminator Uses Open Source's Clamwin for Virus Protection.
Now that you know a little about each program,it's now time to comapre Features:
As you can See both Comodo and Avast have the most features, but that still doesnt mean they are the best.
Now to to take a look at the system resources they use:

The Higher The Better

The Lower The Better
So as we can see AVG uses the least system resources but is in the median in the long run, whereas Avira uses least RAM and Avast boots up quickest.
