Purchased this nifty little monochrome laser printer from an Australian Post Office, the perfect laser printer for a student/home user/small business. It has a 150 sheet tray and takes at the most 8 seconds from sleep to printing. Given it a good hiding since purchasing it and it still keeps coming back for more, worth the price tag of $95.00.
It may not have the looks and functions that some of the higher end laser printers have, but for what it can do that is of little significance.Will gladly recommend it too anyone that wants a small laser printer that doesn't cost the earth and gets the job done. All up I would gladly give it 10/10 for a student/home user/small business monochrome laser printer.

haha beats my little bubblejet. shakes my whole table when i print and the noise. sheesh

Yet it doesn't shake the desk as much as the older printers do. I have also checked around for the price of a replacement toner, best I can find it for $89 from a local computer shop. Though given you should get at 2000 to 2500 pages out of a toner that is well worth the price, which works out between 22.47 and 28.09 cents per page which is still cheaper than a ink/bubblejet by 20 cents if not more. i dont mind computer noise that much. sorta puts me to sleep. lol. but the shaking the desk leaves a lil less to be desired. but hey im still happy with it and its gettin pretty old.

$95 for a newie, $89 for a toner cartridge... Simesy, mate that's a throwaway printer. What's the replacement price of a drum and it's life expectancy? It'd be cheaper and less hassle to turn it into a door stop when it runs out of powder

The difference between the printer price and the toner price.
If the toner costs $89 and the total price is $95, then the rest of the printer is $6.

That's how it always is with cheap printers. The toner/cartridges are very expensive to compensate. Cheap lasers tend to cost $70-$90 for toner per 1500 pages, while expensive ones are $50-$60 for 15,000 pages. Huge difference. That being said, the expensive laser printers can cost thousands of dollars. Also, starter cartridges are typically half the capacity of the standard ones, so it's effectively a $50 printer.

Our mid price laser was several thousand and the cartridges are $140 for black and $160 for each colour, for a total of $620. So we in theory spend on toner what the printer cost every 4 changes of toner. Then there's the drum, the belt and fuse to replace every now and then. Not to mention maintenance costs as there always seems to be leaked toner all through it ...sometimes I just feel like  There is no cheap options when it comes to printing

True. But per page the high-end printers are more economical.

The $6 printer comment was a throw away line cyb. A bit like the printer  I'm shutting down. catch you later.

Considering that my old printer (HP1410) cost about $100 and it was like $50 to buy replacement colour and black cartridges. Since I use it to mainly print out assessments for TAFE. I have looked at colour/monochrome/dual colour laser printers at the mid too high end for laser printers. Honestly it would come down too the same situation as this printer, $500 for the printer and then $100-200 per replacement toner. Catch 22 regardless of which printer you buy.
