Well, this device is a little dated now as far as tech toys are concerned and given that PDA's are yesterdays tech and "Smartphones" are all the rage, I just wanted to vent my spleen (read review) regarding this box of circuitry....
I purchased my IPAQ late 2007 and able to take the HP $100 cash back offer... Little did I know that this was a dupe to purchase them so that HP could deplete their stockpile of old technology to make way for the new devices that were being assembled...
This model of IPAQ came with what some would consider pretty impressive features. It comes standard with an integrated GPS and some so called useful travel tools. the GPS is extremely slow to locate a satellite signal and even then getting to the destination was sometimes a hit and miss affair. Wi-Fi is a useful feature given the take up and giving out of free access around major cities so that you can check your email, and being able to check it at home it useful too...
Chews up the battery Buttons are difficult to get to when you have it in a leather case. Given the price of it it would have been nice for HP to provide one that is designed for it... Have had to hard reset it quite a few times now to get rid of some annoying memory problems. Some sync problems appeared from time to time. Sometimes it would sync without a problem other times it wouldn't and I would need to connect it to my laptop.
Anyway, I will be reading up on the smartphone reviews...why have two devices when you can have one...and my wife has said she will have the IPAQ. She isn't a power user so it may suit her needs.
cheers
