Video: the making of Wolfenstein 3D
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Wolfenstein 3D, id Software's John Carmack talks about the game's creation in a new video. Watch it here.

It's been 20 years since we shot our first 3D Nazi within the walls of Castle Wolfenstein, which makes us feel older than you know.

To mark the game's 20th anniversary, Bethesda has released a swag of celebratory content, including Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum for iOS and a free version of the original game which you can play in your browser (click here).

But perhaps the most intriguing release is the above video, in which id Software co-founder John Carmack goes into great detail about how the game was made.

The interview runs for nearly 30 minutes in total, but if you were a fan of popping stoßtruppen back in the day, it will be time well spent.
