Facebook, MySpace and Twitter join forces to fight Google
The big G’s rivals team up to thwart its recent social search update

Facebook, Myspace and Twitter engineers have released a 'Don't be evil' browser add-on to cancel out the effect of Google’s ‘Search Plus Your World’ update, launched earlier this month.

Google released its update in order to push social elements in searches – but its rivals believe that the big G is skewing the results in favour of its own Google+ social network.

Google’s chairman Eric Schmidt has previously responded to these accusations by stating that Facebook and Twitter did not provide enough access to their sites for Google’s search engine to integrate results, but clearly some bitterness remains.

Time will tell how this social network search war will unfold, but in the meantime you can download the ‘Don’t be evil’ Google add-on from here.
