iiNet is the latest internet service provider to slash the price of its FetchTV service, following a similar move by Internode.
From today, the FetchTV starter package will cost $10 a month (down from $14.95) while the premium entertainment package has dropped to $20 a month (previously $29.95). Existing iiNet FetchTV customers will also receive the price cut.
Sticklers for value will note that the new monthly subscription prices are five cents more expensive than Internode's, which offers its 'Full' and 'Lite' packages for $19.95 and $9.95 per month, respectively. That's 60 cents per year that could be in your pocket.
FetchTV is an Internet-based television subscription service that grants access to digital television channels, movies on demand and Pay TV; all quota free. The service is available from a range of internet service providers, including Optus, Internode, iiNet and Adam Internet.
The iiNet entertainment package offers over 20 TV channels, including MTV, BBC World News, Al Jazeera English, National Geographic, Fox Sports News and a brace of European football club channels. The content is streamed directlly to a 1TB set top box and PVR, which contains three digital TV tuners.
The service includes 30 movies per month as part of a basic subscription, with seven fresh titles added every week.
