Acer goes bananas with 'fashion conscious' netbooks
Acer has revamped its Aspire One Happy netbook with a new range of shells; the bizarrely named Papaya Milk, Strawberry Yoghurt, Blueberry Juice and Banana Cream.

Acer today announced the Aspire One Happy 2; a new “fashion conscious” 10.1in netbook that comes in a range of swanky sounding 'flavours'. The new eye-catching shells are dubbed Papaya Milk, Strawberry Yoghurt, Blueberry Juice and Banana Cream (AKA orange, pink, blue and yellow).

Acer seems to be taking a page from Google Android’s recipe book with these food-inspired titles (see Donut, Eclaire, Gingerbread, Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich). The new designs incorporate a ripple effect on the front lid which purportedly makes them easier to carry.

In addition to a trendy new aesthetic, the Aspire One Happy 2 comes with an updated Intel Atom N570 processor. Other highlights include 1GB or DDR3 RAM, an integrated Intel 3150 GPU, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0.

Acer's press release was light on details of specifications, but we assume the netbooks will be similar to the current Aspire One Happy range. (These came in a more pedestrian Candy Pink, Lavender Purple, Lime Green and Hawaii Blue.)

The new range is available now, with prices starting at $399 – the same price as the current Acer One Happy.
