Telstra to release $99 Android smartphone
Telstra is set to release a new Android-powered smartphone, the Telstra Smart-Touch, which will retail for just $99.

The Telstra Smart-Touch will be available to pre-paid customers, with no fixed-term contracts to sign. It's being billed as the first smartphone to break the $100 barrier in Australia.

The Smart-Touch runs on the Android 2.1 operating system and boasts some impressive features for the asking price, including Wi-Fi, GPS for navigation, a 3.2 megapixel camera with video recording and Bluetooth connectivity.

Telstra Consumer Executive Director, Ms Rebekah O’Flaherty said: “The Smart-Touch is an affordable way for our Pre-Paid customers to access and enjoy features like mobile web-browsing, social networking and email.”
