The Proxima DP1000X was so small, that it’s hard to imagine much of an image coming out of it, yet it threw out a decent 1,024 x 768, 6.8m image from up to 10m away.
The Proxima DP1000X was so small, that it’s hard to imagine much of an image coming out of it, yet it threw out a decent 1,024 x 768, 6.8m image from up to 10m away. Not bad for something you could easily throw in a backpack next to your sandwiches.
Its image prowess was quite good, very high scores for colour ramps and scales, plus top-notch greyscale. In the real world it all translated into great DVD and 3D display, but interestingly it let us down when displaying text, with some unreadable font work.
It came with only DVI for PC hook-up (although a DVI-D-Sub cable was supplied). The DP1000X was near the top of the price-range, but for a DLP its replacement lamps were cheap at $495 a pop.
