Philips’ bCool projector was very much that - cool. Only the Proxima DP1000X was smaller, but the bCool definitely tackled miniaturisation with more panache.

Philips' bCool projector was very much that - cool. Only the Proxima DP1000X was smaller, but the bCool definitely tackled miniaturisation with more panache. With such a small unit you’d be forgiven for assuming that concessions would be made in performance and feature-set, but with the bCool XG1 LC5431 you’d be very wrong.

Although not the greatest data projector, it was more than capable of the fun side of things, with high DVD and gaming scores. The bCool also scored highly for its feature-set, even though its rated lamp life and expensive replacement cost ranked this projector right at the very bottom. The other catch was that this wonderful projector cost nearly $5,000, and unfortunately this dropped its ranking significantly.
