Although it is a 600 x 1,200dpi scanner and only 36-bit colour, this was the only unit in our round-up under a hundred dollars.
This USB-powered lightweight CIS scanner did well in the looks department, with an excellent build quality for a small cost. It also has a vertical stand for storage. Performance was poor compared to the more expensive scanners, however, unlike them, the BearPaw 1200CU operates with Windows and MacOS.
