Featuring an optical resolution of 4,800 x 2,400dpi, the 6800 is the most expensive scanner in our roundup. Microtek markets it as a mid-range or corporate scanner – with good reason.

It supports both USB 2.0 and FireWire, and has hardware technology known as "Digital ICE" which claims to restore dirty or damaged original prints. It also has built-in transparency adaptor that will let you scan in 35mm film. It's thick and heavy, but still looks good.
