Like the Toshiba Portg 3500, Acers Tablet PC is also a convertible notebook model, however swivelling the screen around is a two-handed affair as there are spring-loaded locks at each edge that have to be disengaged and re-engaged in the new form factor. It does keep the unit sitting solidly though, so theres little chance the screen is going to flap open.

As a notebook the C100 is good, with a slightly curved keyboard for more natural typing, but its real strength lies with its Tablet PC abilities. Its a great tablet even though its a little thicker than the HP or Toshiba.

Internally it has an 800MHz Pentium III-M processor, 256MB of RAM, a 20GB IBM hard disk and an 8MB Silicon Motion Lynx3DM+ graphics chip. While these specifications arent as high-end as the Toshiba, they are respectable for the price.
The unit comes bundled with a materiallined faux-leather bound cover with a metal clasp, which not only protects it from scratches and knocks but also looks classy.
