Kaspersky the latest major anti-virus brand to release software compatible with Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7 operating system.
Windows 7 could be anywhere up to a year away, but anti-virus vendors look like they're lining up to make sure they have compatible products ready.

Latest to jump on the Windows 7 bandwagon is Kaspersky, which today announced a "technical prototype" of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7.

Kaspersky joins Symantec with the Norton 360 3.0 beta and AVG with AVG Anti-Virus and AVG Internet Security which work with the Windows 7 beta - good news if you're one of millions who tried downloading it recently.

Like most big name antivirus programs, Kaspersky is pushing its heuristic behaviour-blocking capabilities. Kaspersky also includes a firewall and protects from trojans.

No mention of operating like the "human immune system" though, a juicy comparison trotted out by AVG for its new Sana identity protection technology recently. Oh well, you can't have everything.
