ViewSonic's VX924 panel has one of the lowest quoted response time yet, at 4ms.

Pixel response times on an LCD – or the time it takes for a pixel to change from one colour to another – keep on dropping, and now we present you with the fastest unit to hit the market yet: the ViewSonic VX924 which is capable of refreshing at 4ms.

It was a little hard to compare some monitors as they were more for the high-end market where others were aimed at the consumer/budget market. Such was the case with the Viewsonic VP171B, a high-end professional graphics model. The VP171B featured 280cd/m² brightness coupled with an incredible 600:1 contrast ratio.

This rather optimistic time assumes no use of the backlight, but we found half-brightness to offer the best compromise – and even at this setting, the V35's screen impresses.

Ranking as one the lightest screens in our roundup, Viewsonic's VG500 holds its ground against "heavier" performers.

With average scores across the board, Viewsonic's entry came in just under two thousand dollars and avoided last place overall with a passing mark in real-world simulated tests.

Although the Tablet PC was launched with much hype and fanfare, many media outlets have been sceptical as to the validity of the technology. However, the experience delivered by using a Tablet PC firsthand, for any length of time cannot help but impress. I myself went from cynical observer to total convert after trialling three tablets.
