Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router

In the nefarious world of Wi-Fi standards 802.11b is still king, despite its low bandwidth of only 11 Mb/s. The competing 802.11a standard offers up to 54Mb/s, but apart from some dual standard supporting hardware, it has not received the support expected thanks to the prominence of 802.11b and general lack of interoperability between the two.
MINITAR - MNGSSW-5 10/100/1,000 Ethernet Smart Switch

MINITAR - MNGSSW-5 10/100/1,000 Ethernet Smart Switch

This Gigabit switch proved a challenge to test. One of the limitations facing PCI is one of bandwidth. That being, it is limited to a 33MHz bus, which is 132 MB/s of available throughput. And that bus is shared. Now, not all of us are graced with wallets that can provide multiple 64-bit systems, which would allow a Gigabit network to stretch its wings. So we had to make do with the supplied 32-bit PCI 100/1,000 network cards.
Billion 743GE wireless ADSL router

Billion 743GE wireless ADSL router

Around 18 months ago, a company called Billion delivered the BIPAC 711CE to the ADSL/router market. What was so surprising about this device was its price; for less than $200 you could pick yourself up an ADSL modem with router functionality, including all the frills you'd only expect from a more expensive package. The only thing that let it down was the clunky Web interface and the Connexant chip it used that made flashing its firmware complicated and troublesome.
