A welcome update to the Sound Blaster that can deliver perceptibly better audio than onboard chips, but it goes beyond most people’s needs for PC audio.

There still seems to be a lack of reviews for sound cards below the $200 mark ($50 - $200).
I have had to stick with XP as Creative refuse to update drivers for my Soundblaster Live card for use on Vista/Win7. I love my sound card as it still runs great considering it is over 5-6 years old. I have music running through the 5.1 logitec speakers using the excellent EAX console.
At the moment, I cqnnot afford to upgrade my Motherboard to take advantage of soome that have dedicated 5.1 plugs. My current Mobo only has the standard audio outputs for stereo and Line-in, mic etc.
I can't see the need for spending $250-$800 for a card with features that I would never use.

Satisfyingly clear audio from a relatively cheap pair of closed ear headphones. The Plantronics GameCon headset gets our seal of approval

Looking like it's been plucked straight out of a sci-fi film, you're unlikely to find a gameboard with this much style
