I love this product, I've been using it for three years now, and am seriously happy with its value for money and user friendly interface. However the customer service and frequent updates are what keep me as a customer.

How did you fair in the XP patch stuff up the other day?
See the thread "Microsoft frees up the interweb"

I think ZoneAlarm is one of the best firewall products out there, that should be used by everyone, provided you make 2 small changes to the defaults.
1. bump the firewall setting down from high to medium
2. bump the program setting down 1 notch also

Or you could always just turn the firewall off:roll:
Why would you lower the security settings on your firewall?
Zone alarm is highly configurable. It has an excellent learning system when you install it.

Setting your internet zone to medium is just plain silly. Why would you install an industrial grade firewall then tie its hands behind its back?
As I write this my youngest son is downstairs on my main system dominating in "Dawn of War - Dark crusade" over the interwebs through ZA with the internet zone set to "bugger off, I'm not here".
My home network is set as an IP range in the trusted zone. Everything else is in the internet zone.
My wireless router and ADSL router have had their default passwords changed. Over the wireless I use WPA with a pass phrase and I don't broadcast my SSID. I use IP and mac address binding and IP address filtering. It gives me total power over the oldest boys internet usage. When he's messing about on the forums instead of typing up his biol assignment I can cut him off like a poor relation!
on my win 98 system I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.16 and 3.0.0.1 on the XP Pro systems.
i don't open un solicited Email
maybe I'm just paranoid?
but at least I'm as safe as it's possible to be online.

A powerful and capable suite with some excellent features, although it isn’t the easiest to use, nor the cheapest around.
