ABIT's take on the X700 chipset was the least expensive by a good margin of the three we received. In our benchmarks, it topped 3DMark01, and even outperformed the speedier 6600GT's. This makes it a great card for older DirectX 8 games, but like other X700's, it didn't cope as well with next generation DirectX 9.0 tests. It managed to break 20 frames per second at FarCry and Doom 3 in 1600 x 1200 resolution, but in real terms, this will translate into choppy gameplay.
Considering the price of the card, the bundle is understandably lacking, with only a copy of PowerDVD included. But, given that many of the low end cards on offer feature older games, this shouldn't be too much of a deterrent. All in all, a good card for the money, considering it is the second cheapest in the entire roundup, and it would make an ideal upgrade for users dipping their toes in PCI Express waters. But, if bundled games and outright performance are more important, there are better alternatives on offer here.
