Unfortunately, Sparkle's 6800GT was the only card available for this Labs, and we can't compare this apples to apples with the rest of the cards in the pack. But, we couldn't let it go untested so we compared this to the rest of the field for each benchmark, which gives an indication of its advantage over the other cards through both synthetic and real-world tests.
Our synthetic tests saw it sitting smack in the middle of both 3DMark tests, with scores nipping at the heels of the X800's, and jumping ahead of the it's little brother cards, the 6600GTs. Doom 3 represented a turning point for it, however, and it trounced everything else in its way, including the ASUS' Platinum Edition X800 XT. Unfortunately, other real world tests on Half-Life 2 and FarCry couldn't produce the top results of Doom 3.
It also did well for features, nine points above our average 100 point score, which combined with its performance brought its overall score well above average, despite it having a slightly high $699 price tag. While not a budget card, it certainly has the goods for high end gaming without tipping the scale towards the thousand dollar mark.
