The 6600GT series has the best price and performance ratio at the moment, and consequently it's a very hotly contested market. The NX6600GT-TD128E is MSI's contribution to the mix, and while its a nice bundle, it's value for money needs to be more competitive.
It performs well, particularly when compared to the X700 cards, but when pitted against the other 6600GT's there's very little to differentiate it, especially in benchmarks such as FarCry, where there's only a single frame per second between them.
On the upside, this is a well featured package. It features the radial MSI heatsink, and also sports the SLI connection for improved performance. The bundle is very good, and there are several games including Splinter Cell and XIII. There are also HDTV and VIVO cables and, as with all MSI cards, it comes with a 3 year warranty.
But at $419 it's at the upper end of the 6600GT price range, which puts this slightly out of step with the rest of the cards in the Labs.
