Where
XFX rose early with the DirectX 8 tests and dropped off in the DirectX 9.0 tests, this card did the exact opposite -- it jumped up five places to the middle of the pack in 3DMark05. Interestingly, despite both our FarCry Bunker and Doom 3 tests being indoor maps, Albatron again fell towards the lower part of the list but rose and again sat in second place behind the
AOpen card. Treehouse and our custom Half-Life 2 coast demo was much more consistent, but less impressive, holding second and third last in its class.
Unfortunately, the bundle wasn't as competitive as other offerings. Despite shipping with an impressive all-in-one VIVO adaptor for component and composite inputs, the card has a single DVI and D-sub port and no adaptor. The software bundle is also quite outdated and serves more as a token inclusion than added value, although given this is one of the cheapest cards on show, you'll be able to afford the latest games of your own choosing.
