The Nikon Coolpix E3700 is the smallest camera here and by far the most pocketable. It's got a similar body to the
Sony Cybershot in that it's rounded instead of slim, but is still very compact. It features mag-alloy body, so that even though the camera's small, it's really sturdy. There's no hesitation involved in throwing this camera in a bag amongst your other gear.
This camera also has the lowest capture resolution here with only 3.2-megapixels, but it's not always size that counts; it's what you do with it. In this regard, the Nikon comes through fine.
It hasn't got the other camera's resolution to be sure, but the images it does capture are extremely sharp and well defined.
If there's a problem it's that the indoor white balancing is poor, leaving us with photos that were tinged with yellow/green. This greatly affects the overall image quality, but when we looked beyond the cast the actual colours picked up were very clear and vibrant. This was confirmed with some excellent outdoor shots in sunlight.
While the camera has an SD slot, it is not compatible with MMC. It comes with a 16MB SD card, but be wary of its compatibility if you're looking to expand on that. Go for the SD.
