The N-Gage is as chunky as a phone, but when you use it with both hands to play games the N-Gage shines. The 3D processor is good, so you can get some reasonable depth-of-field gaming on the device.
The newer version of the Nokia N-Gage, the N-Gage QD builds upon the strengths of the first N-Gage and avoids the fatal design flaws of that first design to deliver a pretty cool phone-cum-gaming device.

While you still need a working SIM card to be able to use the N-Gage, the slot for inserting game cards is now located on the bottom of the device so there's no need to remove the battery to play games anymore.

The N-Gage is as chunky as a phone, but when you use it with both hands to play games the N-Gage shines. The 3D processor is good, so you can get some reasonable depth-of-field gaming on the device, and with games ranging from $39.95 to $59.95, it's not an expensive option. It ships with Krash Nitro Kart.
