Taking over on the innovation and user friendliness from where the original iPod left off, the iPod Mini features similar design to the original, but is in every regard smaller. It's thinner, lighter, has a smaller LCD, takes less out of your hip-pocket - but it also has a much smaller capacity - 4GB. This is a far cry from the much lauded 20GB and 40GB iPod models, but the Mini can still store around 1000 songs which should be more than enough for anyone.
The unit comes with iTunes 4.5 which is both PC and Mac compatible and supports Mac OS X 10.1.5 and Windows 2000 with SP4 or Windows XP. Loading the music is easy, as the mini comes with both USB 2.0 and FireWire connectivity. There's an AC recharger also bundled, but the iPod Mini also charges from the USB and FireWire connections.
The menu system and touch sensitive control dial are similar to the original iPod, and it's still incredibly easy to use. There's no other company that features design like Apple. Once again they've come out with a product that's stylish, functional, easy-to-use and well worth showing off.
