Samsung’s claim to fame with this drive is it’s slightly above average value for money score; priced at just $199 it represents good value and was only beaten by both award winners the Mitsubishi and Optorite for cost. Nero 5.5 and PowerDVD are a nice welcome for this price point, while the 12x writing should stand the test of time for a while yet. Again it’s hard to recommend given the cheaper competition offering just as much for your bucks.
