Narrowly edged out of the winning position by the extremely capable Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 drive, this drive has plenty to crow about. Seagate's mixed blessing native SATA removes the need for bridging or adaptors, but unfortunately limits those without a native SATA PSU. WD have countered this by providing both a 12v Molex plug as well as SATA power for hot swapability. This drive boasts a nice clean graph demonstrating the full advantage of error correction with gradual stepping down as the test progresses, no jaggy lines here. This drive's 30 percent above average score comes from its impressive $230 price tag, working out to $1.15 per gigabyte, very economical for anyone looking to put together a SATA RAID array without breaking the bank. WD's 3-year replacement warranty makes it a great buy for mission critical applications such as servers and business workstations. This drive offers the perfect marriage of features and performance for a hefty 200GB drive without costing an arm and a leg.
