One of only two external DVD writers submitted for testing this month, this multi-format drive has you covered for all your archive and burning needs. Featuring both High Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire IEEE 1394 connectivity, this would be ideal for users after DVD creation and reading without compromising on the freedom external devices provide for their premium cost. Bundled with a well thought out software suite and single supplied DVD-R disc, it's not your cheapest option if you're looking to crack into the DVD market but it does provide reliable 'plus' and 'minus' R/RW burning on the go, while an 8MB buffer helps to ward off underrun issues while creating discs.
