The SiPix StyleCam Blink is an amazingly small digital camera, quite possibly the smallest we've reviewed at PC Authority.
It's thinner than the BenQ DC1300 and Sony DSC-U10 (October 2002, page 53), but has a square form factor.
This palm-sized camera has a tiny 0.3-megapixel CCD, which can capture 100 stills at 640 x 480 resolution. The pictures it does capture are not the greatest quality, with the Blink's small size adding to the problem – it-s slow to capture, but so small that you can accidentally move the camera while you're waiting.
There's no LCD to preview your shots, but you can store up to 400 of them if you drop the resolution to 320 x 240. The Style Cam Blink can also record video, although instead of capturing smooth footage it-s more a concatenation of photos strung to form an AVI. The results are jerky.
Does the StyleCam Blink produce high quality photos, smooth video or have the features of a enthusiast's digital camera? No – not by a long shot. But it does cost only $99, runs off a single AAA battery and comes with a generous software bundle so you really can't go wrong.
