Acer TravelMate 225X

Saturday March 01, 2003
Acer
AUD
$2199
Price at time of review.

Acer was one of the few big name manufacturers that were able to meet our stringent pricing criteria. The submitted notebook, the TravelMate, is not a so bad overall, but it couldn't win out against the smaller manufacturer's abilities to get top components at short notice. Where Acer excels is in after-sales support.

Decent specs, but the massive battery life very much so elevates this notebook above the average.

Despite some odd feature choices, this is an affordable powerhouse of a laptop. A great value mid-range Centrino 2 laptop, as long as you're not worried about battery life.
