Even though the PowerColor R9800 PRO has the default core clock and memory speeds for the RADEON 9800 PRO, it ended up being the lowest scoring 9800 PRO reviewed. It lost several places in 3DMark2001SE Pro and 3DMark03 as the resolution climbed. It was even beaten by its own equally-clocked 9600 card in the Code Creatures stress test, although the R9800 PRO scored nearly twice the overall score.
The no-frills Auriga 9800 PRO scored marginally higher, and is only $50 more, although it offers no software to counter PowerColor's outdated but still playable games.
