Compact, rugged and at a mere 45g (without batteries), the Philips psa[128max MP3 player, badged 'Nike', is geared towards consumers who want to get physical with good sound. The device has 128MB memory, and offers USB connectivity and equaliser functions (rock, hiphop, funk, techno and custom).
The psa[128max comes bundled with stereo headphones, USB cable, drivers and software CD, player-strap, and one AAA battery. The stretchable-Velcro armband allows the MP3 player to be strapped onto the upper arm, however the headphone cords are long enough to extend to a waist pocket and have powerful magnetic clips to keep the cords attached to your clothing.
All the controls on the device are overlayed with rubber matting.
The software and drivers were quick and easy to install, and the bundled Musicmatch Jukebox software facilitates the transfer of files. The CD also includes a well-illustrated user manual. The psa[128max doesn't support recording, memory expansion or radio. Also, the sensitive jack caused distortion when jerked.
