Sony has a reputation in the PC Authority Labs for providing both quality and reliable products. The DSC-P32 is no exception.
With its small chassis and multitude of features we expected this unit to carry a hefty price tag. However, at a very reasonable $499 for 3.3-megapixels, it's a great buy in the under $500 market.
With rapid start-up and shutdown times, you're ready to shoot straight away. Our only real grievance is with the camera's zoom. Digital zoom is based on the resolution; shooting at 3-megapixels there is no zoom at all, while in VGA mode, you have up 3.2x digital zoom.
The LCD is well lit, clear and offers reasonable response times when using it to frame potential images. Sony's Memory Stick technology allows you to interchange the media between different products, or stick it into a VAIO notebook with a ‘stick port' and transfer away.
The camera comes supplied with a set of two NiMH batteries and charger.
With it's excellent price, we think this is a good model with great ability.
