Just another 4-megapixel camera is what we expected when we opened the box and pulled out the Nikon Coolpix 4500, but this beauty soon proved us wrong.
With its unique swivel design, the Nikon Coolpix 4500's lens compartment locks into four positions, or can be used freely between these locks for angular viewing without having to adjust your shooting style. It features an audio-capturing video mode, perfect for short film clips, which you can then email off with your digital stills.
Even at insane levels of zoom, it held its ground with sharp, well-formed images and little blurring, making it a good choice if you do a lot of macro photography.
The Coolpix 4500 was also the only 4-megapixel camera capable of 800 ISO-rated shooting. The most expensive in its class, it's a fair buy for those after something a little different with great results.
With quality pictures, this is a great camera with an easy to use interface complete with some unorthodox but very welcomed style.
